Hello friends!

Alyssa here and I am so excited to share this space with you, and want to express my gratitude for reading a little piece of my story. I was born on the east coast, raised in the midwest in Ohio, and then attended college for a few years at the University of Kentucky. All my life I was raised to be a certain thing based on a certain standard set by my parents, so I never even knew what it was that I truly wanted & desired. As I have left college, without finishing my long planned path into chemical engineering following my parents footsteps, I felt lost. Leaving everything I knew behind in pursuit for my own truth has been one of the most difficult, liberating, empowering experiences of my life so far. I moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 2016 to take a break from school and figure out what it is that I really want before I continue to pursue my education, as well as enjoy all the nature Utah offers that I never had access to growing up. Shortly after arriving to this small-lake-city I discovered how truly alone I felt without the comfort of all that I had always known, and years of neglect tumbled down on my physical, mental, and spiritual health. After dealing with crippling anxiety, ever growing depression that accompanied her,  and adult acne that was getting progressively worse & worse I was willing to try just about anything as long as it wasn't a pill. Then I found yoga. My first few yoga classes I cried in ways that I had never allowed myself to my whole life, years of piled up emotions spilling out of me in bliss/pain. This is where my journey of healing truly began, in the raw and most vulnerable of spaces I had ever gone. I found yoga when I was going through the most difficult time in my life up to that point, and without the tools I started to gain I would not be where I am now and where I am going. I fell in love with what I was experiencing though the practice of yoga and mediation. Ultimately I started to fall in love with myself and I decided I must share this, because I so desperately wish someone had taught me much sooner.

I found my yoga teacher training program here in Salt Lake City and attended my 200HR training where I was hired to teach for the studio right after training, and then taught for a year and continued onto take my 300HR training. I also teach yoga at a psychiatric hospital, helping a very wide variety of people with a wide variety of mental health concerns. This is where I really began to cultivate my practice in a way that allows me to better understand the true variety of body types, personalities, likes/dislikes and how that same variety would allow me to create a little something for everyone.

Sacred Flow Collective was created in the energy of love, and choosing the light. I want this to be a space for the light, and those who need community to share that with. We are all here to work together and come together so that we can create greater abundance and health. We can support each other through being vulnerable, authentic, respectful, & kind. We are not in competition with one another, we are allies!

Sacred Flow Collective

This will be a truly safe space of clear boundaries, good intentions, connection, love, support & ultimately community. I offer you my most raw essence as an example that we can all grow through what we go through. Thank you for allowing me to come as I am, thank you for showing up as you are, and welcome to the Sacred Flow Collective where love is the foundation.
